Out of Asia Showroom

For over ten years, Out of Asia Venue, one of the largest asian importers in the west coast, has been committed to providing high quality antique and contemporary furniture items, accessories, design accents and linens. It has made a wide range of product collections emphasizing cultural diversities, uniqueness, and excellence through reinterpretation of classic forms and styles influenced by early colonial days and ethnographic life of its region. The contemporary designed pieces originate from the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. The antique collections are from fine and provincial Chinese, Korean and Japanese furnishings to Spanish, Dutch, French and British colonial pieces. Many of the furniture items seen here like sofas and chairs are made from indigenous materials such as bamboo and rattan, while some are from aluminum and copper. Accessories and design accents such as plates, bowls, and jewelry boxes are from shells, bones, wild vines, riverstones, and shagreens. Fabric collections are mainly from leather, hemp and silk. These collections are displayed in a spacious 35,000 square foot showroom located in Los Angeles, California.

Perfection is the key in making the product a success, so craftsmen with extraordinary skills and lifetime experience who are natives of the region are hired. Edna Luer, the president of Out of Asia Venue, personally designs most of the pieces. She ensures excellent finish and proper production by traveling through different regions of the country where the pieces are made. This enables her to give them accurate and precise directions.

Out of Asia Venue is known for providing the right material to fit nearly any setting which needs oriental decorations. The end-product can also be customized to incorporate the ideas of the company’s clients.

Review of Out of Asia by Robert H. on Yelp

Its really easy to miss this place. There's a small sign on Jefferson and another in La Cienega, but really not eye catching enough to grab your attention and make you want to visit. It would be a shame to not Out of Asia Venue because you'd be missing out on a Val treat. When you finally enter this place, it will seem like you've been transported to Asia.

The place is stuffed with Asian furniture, both modern and antiques. Its a warehouse similar in vein to the Dock in Boyle Heights, but with a lot more furniture to gawk at. The prices aren't outrageous either. Some of the items might be little pricey, but no where near what you'd be paying at a home furnishings store on Beverly Blvd.

The odd thing about this place is that it doesn't get a lot of foot traffic, so you might be the only one visiting the place when you're there. The first time I visited, I didn't see one worker. The second time I visited, I saw 3 of them.

I think the place is Filipino owned and many of their furniture is imported from the Philippines. But a lot of the furniture and items resemble those that come from other Asian countries like China and Thailand and even the Middle East.

Parking is easy. Finding the place from either Jefferson or La Cienega is a little bit of a challenge though. Just make sure to follow the signs.
